Pressed Flower Garden Art Workshop

This workshop had been growing in my mind for months. I’d been working hard BTS pressing flowers, purchasing and creating all the special touches, and dreaming about the feeling I wanted to create. I envisioned an inviting space where people could unwind, tap into their creativity, and discover the magic of flowers. The Valley Girl Boutique in Wolfville was the perfect place to make that vision come to life.

The Valley Girl’s beautiful space quickly filled with creative energy, amazement over each petal, and focused concentration. Everyone trusted the process and leaned into their creativity, and one by one, stunning pressed flower masterpieces began to appear.

Every detail was mindfully planned — from the custom trays filled by flower type, laid out in neat rows, to sweet shortbread cookies topped with pressed violas, and place cards with each attendee’s name. I’ve never been an event planner, but planning every detail brought me so much joy this season.

I loved how each piece of artwork was completely different from the one beside it. Everyone brought their own creative expression to life — through their choice of colours, layout, and flowers. As I looked around the room, I saw more than art being made. I saw moments of connection, relaxation, and joy. It was the magic I’d hoped for, right there in their hands and hearts.

I’m already dreaming up the next workshop (coming this fall), but first, there’s a lot of pressing to do so we’ll have fresh petals ready to create with again soon.
