Hi, I'm Ashley! I preserve moments and memories by creating meaningful and heartfelt art and gifts with pressed flowers. Just as the seasons pass quickly in nature, so do the seasons of our lives. By celebrating these seasons in tangible and beautiful ways, I aim to help preserve moments dear to our hearts.
My creativity is deeply inspired by Nova Scotia, colourful gardens, landscapes and the creatures that inhabit them, all with the intention of preserving life's floral moments and reconnecting us back to the earth. With over two decades of experience in graphic arts and stationery design, coupled with my lifelong passion and knowledge of flowers, the art of flower pressing has evolved beyond a creative outlet—it’s been a return to a simpler, more soulful way of living.
About My Process & ProductsSeek & Bloom's art is a slow and heartfelt journey, where each small step is an important part of the creative process. I'm passionate about local and using sustainably sourced and locally foraged flowers and foliage in my artwork.
Once flowers are preserved in a flower press for 3-6 weeks, I plan and creatively arrange or 'paint' with flowers, delicately adhearing each petal and leaf, transforming it into an original botanical artwork. Once the artwork is complete it is photographed and carefully edit to capture its true essence.
All original artwork is finished using locally handcrafted wood frames. Each one is custom stained in studio to compliment the flower design for a complete handcrafted and natural feel.
Through the digital photographs I create fine art prints and design greeting cards to be enjoyed and shared near and far through in person markets, online retail and wholesale opportunities.
