Earthlore - The stories the earth holds

Earthlore - The stories the earth holds

There is a certain kind of beauty that does not ask to be admired. It lives low to the ground. It tucks itself beneath trees. It fades quietly with the season.

Earthlore was created from the kinds of botanicals that often go unnoticed. The textured greens of the forest floor. Sprouting ferns reaching toward filtered light. Fallen leaves that have shifted in colour and form. Even the pieces touched by insects, delicate and skeletonized, carrying evidence of a life fully lived.

Not the showiest blooms in my collection. Not the obvious choice.

But when gathered together, something changed.

Placed side by side, these earthy fragments began to speak. They told a story of rhythm and rest. Of decay and renewal. Of how every living organism works in harmony, each one holding its own quiet history.

This piece is about slowing down long enough to notice the ordinary. It is about seeing beauty in what remains. It is about the calm that settles in when your feet are in the grass, and the scent of moss and trees fills the air.

Earthlore is a reminder that the earth is always telling stories. We just have to be still enough to hear them.
